The village has two main Carelle groups of dwellings. As in most of the villages, villagers differentiated by the height from the ground; ie: "Carelle D'Arriba" to the homes of the top and "Carelle D'Abaixo" for those who are closest to the forest. Each of the houses is called by the name of countryman or countrywoman who inhabited: William House, House Elisa ... either by reputation or nickname of the family; Casa do Gato, Casa dos Pinpins ... Unfortunately the village had deserted many years and one of the tasks of this project was to restore the homes and provide them with all the modern conveniences, including internet in an unthinkable place. All homes have Lareiras in > central heating. The rooms are all exterior and with separate bath ... Wake up to the rooster and breathe fresh air.
